Comments: Hello ,Namaskar.My name is Akhil Sharma I saw a article about your website in March 2008 issue of Hindustan Times, I joined as a volunteer donor on 7th April 2008,yesterday evening i got a SMS from yur website about the need of blood and a call from Mr.Gupta for need of blood for he neice who is undergoing Chemotherapy at PGIMER,Chandigarh.I went today morning and was able to help by able assistance from doctors of PGIMER.WBC Patelletes were taken from my blood which were to be transferred to Ankita's blood to give her assistance to fight the immunity Met Ankita( patient) who is good in academics, a 3rd year student at Haryana Engg.College,Jagadhari,Haryana, her mother who is a courageous and pious lady. I think i might have taken a small step for the betterment of mankind.

I am a registered donor of IBD.I would like to express my sincere Gratitude to God and IBD team for giving me an opportunity to serve others. I got 3 calls for donation through IBD.In that God allowed me to serve 2 persons and both were in Amritha Hospital, for the third one, I was ready to go but they later told me that they got sufficient Donors from their place. Once again my sincere thanks to all there. Also I have a suggestion for you ,In the listing page of blood banks,you have said that to roll over the image of blood drop to get address details of that bank,but for some browsers that wont work.So it will be better if you put address under the Blood bank name itself.

I am a Pathologist and Senior Deputy Director at the Tuberculosis Research Centre. At 9.30 pm on 14 January 2007, I was informed that 3 units of AB Rh Positive blood were required for a scientific colleague of mine. As I was given your website by another colleague, I booked for the blood with a confirmation number of 7992. The next morning, as per the instructions given in your site, I contacted Mr Ramesh on his mobile no. He got back to me with five numbers and said that I could contact them directly. Of the five, one was a wrong number and another did not respond to my calls. Of the remaining, one had undergone a recent surgery and one agreed immediately. He, in fact, went and gave the blood at Madras Medical Mission. He is Mr. Arun. He was kind enough to see the patient also before her sugery. One more person reverted to me yesterday morning and offered to give blood. However, since two more units had already been arranged from the patient's other contacts, this was not required. My colleague successfully underwent the bypass surgery yesterday and is recovering. My Institute, my colleague with her family and I would like to thank your organization for making this possible. Since issues of confidentialy may be involved, I am not giving the full details of the five volunteers' names in this message. May I thank you once more, especially Mr Ramesh who, very patiently answered all my queries and gave these numbers.

We really thank you very much for the help received from your end (through Indianblooddonors.com ) for my father Mr.C.Kailasam @ GKNM Hospital. His surgery was held on 28.04.2006 and he is fine and healthy and is recovering fast. Thanks so much for writing. I cannot thank you and donors on your web site enough in my lifetime. My father had AML leukemia. I came to bombay without knowing anyone in bombay to get my dad treated at jaslok hospital bombay. My dad needed blood and platelets everyday almost for almost two months while he was undergoing chemotherapy for leukemia. I was worried and terrified and I was searching on web as my last chance to find donors for my dad and found your website. I called strangers I did not even know and so many generous wonderful donors came to donate blood and platelets for my dad. I am so grateful to them and to you for keeping my dad alive. Without your website my dad would not have survived for 10 months while he was suffering with leukemia and those ten months were so precious for us that my family cannot thank bombay and hyderabad donors registered on your site enough in words. Most of the generous donors I met in bombay and hyderabad were engineers, ceo's and people working hard in their daily jobs and they still made time and came all the way to jaslok hospital and apollo hospitals in bombay and hyderabad. At one point I did not even have time to call donors for my dad and the donors who came were so sweet that they informed their friends who also registered at your website and brought so many donars. I constantly pray to God to keep all of my dads donors safe, I made so many wonderful brothers who gave me 10 months to spend time with my dad which meant a lot to me. I am in touch with some of them who became my brothers and hope to get it touch with all of them when I come to india. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you. I read today an article on rediff about you and how hard it was for you financially to start this website. May I take this opportunity to thank you for putting a site like this together? What you have done here is phenomenal. I have always thought we needed something like this and it was a sign from above when I got an email to register on the site some two years ago. My father was a doctor and a blood donor for 32 years. I remember as a child that me and my brother would look forward to one thing on our birthdays...and that would be our father donating blood. It was a symbolic gesture and one that both of us have continued after our father passed away 10 years ago. The site and your campaign have touched more lives than you will know...And I have been lucky to have been contacted twice through the site.
